About Emory-CEIRR
As part of the wider CEIRR network, the Emory-CEIRR will integrate basic and clinical research to advance understanding of respiratory viral infection, transmission, evolution and emergence, and to fill key gaps in our understanding of the human immune response to respiratory viral infection and vaccination. Major areas of focus include influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2. In addition, when called upon and as warranted by present-day circumstances, the Emory-CEIRR is prepared and willing to contribute to outbreak response research. We have extensive expertise and infrastructure available to leverage in these scenarios. Through this work, we aim to enable the development of improved measures to reduce the burden that respiratory viruses impose on human health.
