CEIRR INFLUENZA DATA PROCESSING AND COMMUNICATION CENTER (iDPCC)

Gaithersburg, MD | United States

Lead Organization: Digital Infuzion

The iDPCC was created to manage the coordination needs of the CEIRR Network, maximize the dissemination of knowledge created by CEIRR, and support data analysis program wide. A major aspect of the iDPCC mission is to build the technical systems, data standards, and data management processes that enable optimal sharing of CEIRR data both internally and in public databases. The iDPCC maintains the CEIRR website, which hosts news and resources for CEIRR researchers and the general public, as well as the CEIRR Portal for data submission. Within the CEIRR Portal, the iDPCC hosts the tools to facilitate the collection, tracking, visualization, analysis, and updating of diverse influenza data sets generated and collected across the CEIRR Network.

Data Collection, Management and Quality Control, and Analytics

The iDPCC supports CEIRR investigators in scientific data analysis and promotes data sharing across the Network by providing a robust, state-of-the-art data management platform. Through the collaborative development of common data standards with CEIRR investigators, the iDPCC develops modern and robust systems to ingest, harmonize, and ultimately transfer CEIRR data to the public domain.

Collaboration and Coordination

A key aspect of the CEIRR mission is collaborative research. The iDPCC supports this mission by developing platforms that can disseminate CEIRR-generated resources and reagents to the broader community. The iDPCC maintains a searchable library of CEIRR publications and a Reagents Page that provides the scientific community the opportunity to search, connect, and request reagents developed by CEIRR investigators. These resources enable others to define novel areas of investigation and identify potential collaborators within the CEIRR Network.

Communication and Outreach

The iDPCC helps communicate the mission of the CEIRR Program and the accomplishments of its investigators to the scientific community and general public. The iDPCC maintains and updates the public website which serves as a centralized resource for information on research initiatives and program activities. CEIRR news and updates are shared with the broader scientific community on multiple communication platforms, including social media.

Training, Assessment, and Technical Assistance

To assist investigators in data sharing and analysis, the iDPCC develops comprehensive training systems and documentation for the platforms and systems to the CEIRR Network. The iDPCC provides hands-on training to ensure that investigators can take full advantage of available resources. The iDPCC also supports the CEIRR Help Desk to provide prompt assistance to CEIRR members during the data submission process.
